The Customs Department is introducing a new Customs Traveller Declaration (Customs Form 98) effective immediately.

On the new form there are a few new questions and important information on the reverse to read carefully.

United States Consulate:

The United States Consulate in Bermuda serves Americans living in and visiting Bermuda as well as Bermudians and foreign nationals who wish to visit the United States.  The Consulate is located at 16 Middle Road in Devonshire.  Customer service has recently been  upgraded and appointments for consular services can now by made on-line at http://hamilton.usconsulate.gov.  Information about other Consulate services can also be found at that web address.

Office of the Hon. Italian Consul, Bermuda:

January 3, 2008

Due to a change of policy of the European Union on 26 Dec 2006, there is a rule that any British Dependent Territory citizens with a local passport will need a visa to enter Italy .

This applies if Italy is either the first port of entry OR Italy is the country where the visitor stay is for the longest period of travel.

Due to the great number of Bermudians traveling to Europe each year, and as Italy is one of the most popular destinations, we do not want any traveler to be inconvenienced during business or vacation trips.  We therefore felt the need to inform the local travel agencies so that they can in turn, inform their customers of these new rules.

Requirements

The application for the Italian visa has to be processed through the Italian Honorary Consul on the island

Contact Information:   Tel:  295-5391   Fax:  295-5327    Email:  italia@northrock.bm

- $85.90 by US $ draft and this cost varies according to the Euro exchange rates

- Approx. $95 for courier costs

- Approx. $70 administration agency costs to prepare and process the paperwork

Once a visa is obtained, it allows travel within the following 15 Schengen countries:
